MVD Poonch Cracks Down on Traffic Violations at Kunaiyan, Poonch: Multiple Offenders E-challaned

In a concerted effort to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic regulations, a team from the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Poonch, led by ARTO Poonch Mr. Taramani, along with Inspector Mohd Kaif and MVTIs Mozum Jahan Qazi, conducted a rigorous enforcement drive at Kunaiyan, Poonch. The operation specifically targeted overloaded passenger vehicles, a significant safety concern in the region. During the drive, 30 vehicles were checked, resulting in 9 e-challans being issued for various offenses. The enforcement team’s proactive approach highlights their commitment to mitigating risks associated with overloading and other traffic violations, ensuring safer travel for all road users.

The violations identified during the operation included 5 cases of passenger overloading, which poses serious risks to both passengers and other road users. Additionally, 1 vehicle was booked for failing to give passage to emergency vehicles, an offense that can have dire consequences. Two vehicles were penalized for disobedience of traffic rules, while another was charged with general offenses. The expected fine amount from these e-challans totals ₹25,900, reflecting the department’s stern stance on traffic law enforcement. The MVD Poonch’s efforts are a crucial step in promoting road safety and adherence to traffic regulations in the district, reinforcing the importance of lawful driving practices.
