Over 09 Vehicles Challaned, Drivers reminded to Wear Helmets, Avoid distracted driving .

In a concerted effort to enhance road safety in the region, the Motor Vehicle Department under the supervision of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Poonch, Taramani, conducted an enforcement drive in the Malti and Degwar areas of Poonch.
This drive was carried out on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary (IAS).
During the drive, a total of 09 vehicles were challaned, with the department collecting an expected amount of ₹34,000 through e-challans. The enforcement action was taken against various traffic violations, including:
- 3 cases of driving without a helmet
- 2 cases of driving without a valid driving license
- 2 cases of driving without insurance
- 01 cases of using mobile phones while driving
- 1 case of vehicle alteration
ARTO Poonch, Taramani, appealed to all drivers and vehicle owners to strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations. He emphasized the importance of wearing helmets, refraining from using mobile phones while driving, and ensuring that all necessary documents, including licenses, insurance, and pollution-free slips, are kept in the vehicle at all times.
The ARTO further emphasized that by complying with traffic regulations, road users can avoid any untoward incidents and contribute to the overall improvement of the transportation system in the region.
