Reviews preparedness, directs Officials to Ensure Facilities for Pilgrims

In preparation for the upcoming Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra-2024, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary(IAS) visited the Buddha Amarnath Ji Temple and held a meeting with Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj to discuss the security arrangements, safe drinking water, sanitation, lighting, and other essential preparations for the annual pilgrimage.
During the visit, he emphasised on the need for timely arrangements by all stakeholder departments to avoid any inconvenience to the pilgrims.
Deputy Commissioner also took stock of all the arrangements, including Langers, cleanliness, toilet facilities, drainage at the Mandi Mandir Complex and various other arrangement for the smooth conduct of Yatra.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer of the Power Development Department to make proper arrangements for lighting around the temple and install lights on the poles to ensure that the pilgrims do not face any problems at night.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Public Health Engineering Department to install a water borewell inside the temple within the next 10 days to ensure an adequate water supply during the Yatra.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) to complete the ongoing construction work inside the temple as soon as possible.
He also directed the concerned Block Development Officer of Mandi to ensure the cleanliness of the temple premises, including the proper cleaning of all the bathrooms.
The meeting was attended by Tehsildar Mandi, Commander BSF, Ashfaq Hussain, Xen PWD, Poonch, Xen PDD, SDO BSNL, Deepak, besides committee members of Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Mandir Mandi, AEE’s, Je’s and other concerned officers/officials were present.
