Local Community Extends Warm Welcome, Showcases Spirit of Unity and Brotherhood
Poonch: August 8, 2024 : The annual Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra for Mandi town commenced today, with the first batch of pilgrims departing for their destination under tight security during the early morning hours.
The first group of Yatris was flagged off by DIG Rajouri Poonch, Tejinder Singh, in the presence of prominent Dysp Hqr, Pankaj Sudan, Dysp DAR, Kuldeep Kumar, local leaders including the President of VHP, Nishu Gupta, the President of SDS Khetar Pal, and the President of DGPC, Narinder Singh, along with several senior citizens.
The DIG assured that all necessary security arrangements have been put in place to ensure an incident-free yatra. The local community in Rajpura Mandi extended a warm welcome to the first batch of Budha Amarnath Yatris, with members arranging a special langar to serve food to the pilgrims, showcasing the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
One of the Yatris expressed his excitement at witnessing this communal harmony in the last district of Poonch, stating that it was a testament to the strong bonds between the people of the region.
