Nasha-Mukt committee , NSS Unit of PG college in collaboration with IQAC today organized a series of activities under the flagship programmme of Govt. of INDIA ”NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAAN” . The event was started with the welcome address by the convener Nasha Mukt Committee of the college Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, he along with the welcome address also throw light on the importance of organizing such activities. Principal Govt. P.G college Dr Shamim Ahmed Azad Presided over the event. The event was divided into three different activites viz 1 student seminar 2 extension lecture 3 pledge ceremony
A number of students participated in seminar and presented their views on the theme “Role of higher education institutions in spreading awareness against Substance abuse”. After student seminar an extension lecture was delivered by Prof Khaleeq Ahmed NSS Programme Officer on the topic KNOW DRUGS NO DRUGS. In his detailed lecture he very lucidly highlighted the ill effects of substance abuse and he also shed light on how we all together can protect ourselves and our future generations from this menace . Prof Iqbal Raina HoD Physics and District Nodal Officer SVEEP also spoke on the occasion he in his talk insisted the young learners to be rational in life and denounce all ill practices and also to fight against all social evils. Principal of the institution Prof Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad in his presidential address impressed upon all the students the role they have to perform in the society in fight against Nasha (substance abuse). He deliberated how students can play the role of ambassadors in the society and he once again uttered the commitment of college administration to fight against drug abuse and drug trafficking in and around campus. Dr lateef Mir, Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Prof Ayaz Ahmed, Prof Mohd Khaliq, Prof Joginder Singh, Prof Paras Ram, Prof D.Nath, Prof Khalid Rayaz ,Prof Naveen Sharma, Prof Shoket, Prof Makhdoom, Prof Harshal Sharma were presented on the occasion. Programme ended with formal vote of thanks by Dr. Riaz Ahmed Coordinator IQAC
A pledge ceremony was organized in college play ground where all the faculty members and students took pledge to fight against Drug Abuse. The pledge was administered by Prof Khaleeq Ahmed.
