On the Directions of District Development Commissioner, Poonch , Yasin M Choudhary (IAS) , A team of officers and officials from municipality , headed by AEO Muncipal Surankote, conducted market checking at Surankote here today and challaned the shopkeepers in for various violations .The inspection squads during inspection of various business establishments checked chicken shops, vendors, dairy and sweet shops , checked the quality of eatables being sold to the consumers.
The teams also destroyed degraded and outdated food items and directed the shopkeepers and owners of chicken shops to display the rate lists of items as approved by the district administration from time to time.
The market checking was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, who has constituted flying squads across the district keeping in view the Ahead month of Ramadan. Muncipal Surankote have been instructed to carry out intensive market checking drives on regular basis in order to ensure that the customers are not fleeced by the shopkeepers and also quality eatables are provided to them. AEO Mincipal told the news agencies that regular inspections shall be conducted in future also and defaulters shall be dealt in accordance with the law. He further added that inspections shall also conducted in other areas like Hari Marhote, Bufliaz and Lassana in coming days.He requested the public to file individual complaints in police station also in case of any overcharging etc from the customers.
