Poonch, August 7]: In a bid to spread awareness about the importance of voting and electoral participation, over 100 schools in Poonch district organized a painting competition under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program. The event was held under the direction of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch, Lal Hussain.
The competition saw an overwhelming response, with over 1480 students participating from various schools across the district. The young artists showcased their creativity and talent by painting their visions of a stronger democracy.
The SVEEP program aims to educate and encourage citizens, especially the youth, to participate in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote. The painting competition was an initiative to engage students in this democratic process and inspire them to become responsible citizens.
CEO Poonch, Lal Hussain, expressed his delight at the enthusiastic participation of students and schools in the competition. “It is heartening to see the young minds of Poonch district taking an active interest in the democratic process. This competition will help inculcate a sense of ownership and pride among the students, which will eventually lead to a stronger democracy.”
