As a part of ongoing independence day 2024 celebrations SKC Govt. Degree College Poonch organized an intra-College quiz competition on the theme “Freedom Struggle and National Heroes” today on 07-08-2024 under the able guidance of Worthy Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Jasbir Singh. The competition focused on enhancing students knowledge about the Indian Freedom Struggle, emphasizing key historical figures, pivotal events, and significant movements that shaped the nation’s history
The event brought together five enthusiastic teams, each comprising three members who showcased their knowledge & teamwork. The competition featured a series of thought-provoking questions designed to challenge participants and encourage deeper understanding of the freedom movement. After a fierce battle of wits Team A clinched the 1st position while Team C & E secured 2nd position and Team B earned third position.
At the very outset Dr. Mussarat Jabeen, convener of the program, welcomed all the guests & participants and highlighted the importance of such events in fostering historical awareness and civic responsibility among students.
The program was skillfully conducted by Prof. Yougish Kumar HoD philosophy & Prof. Nusrat Koser HoD Political Science while Prof. Rajnish Kumar HoD Dogri was the judge of the event.
Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Jasbir Singh while speaking on the occasion advised the students to inculcate the teachings & philosophy of the great freedom fighters who selflessly sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Among faculty members Prof. Assadullah Khan, Dr. Mohd Akram, Prof. Waseeem Akram, Dr. Amjad Ali Babar, Prof. Basharat Hussain, Prof. Mehnaz koser, Prof. Imtiaz Ahmed & Prof. Zaffar Iqbal were also present on the occasion
The program concluded with the formal vote of thanks presented by Prof. Nusrat Koser.
