Poonch , JANUARY 17: Mission Director, National Health Mission J&K Sh. Nazim Zia Khan (IAS) today attended a mega public outreach programme besides participating in a multitude of activities as part of the ongoing “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” in Mandi Tehsil of District Poonch.
The event was aimed at saturating all government schemes and enhancing awareness among the local population.
The Mission Director NHM J&K along with Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M.
Choudhary (IAS) inspected stalls set up by various government departments showcasing schemes related to agriculture, horticulture, health, animal husbandry, social welfare, handicraft, handloom, and other wings. He interacted with the officers, and reviewed progress achieved, so far, under different government schemes on ground.
The Mission Director NHM J&K monitored the activities of VBSY van which is playing a crucial role in raising awareness among the common masses about various central government schemes. The van displayed videos of Prime Minister’s speeches, testimonials from beneficiaries, and informative clips to enhance understanding about government initiatives. The participants listened keenly to the recorded message of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The event at Mandi Poonch also witnessed vibrant cultural activities and national anthem performed by school students. Besides, the participants took the Viksit Bharat pledge to solidify their commitment towards the cause of inclusive development and nation building.
During the event, various issues and concerns were raised by the participants and PRI’s which included construction of Govt Degree College Building , roads of remote areas, issues related to implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, Hospital related issues and others. The Deputy Commissioner assured them that their problems will be solved and redress at an earliest.
While addressing the gathering, the Mission Director NHM emphasized the Prime Minister’s vision behind the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) of ensuring widespread awareness among rural masses, reaching the unreached population, and facilitating the utilization of government welfare schemes.
The Mission Director appreciated the people of Poonch & District Administration for successfully conducting the VBSY program across all gram panchayats and Municipal Council & Committees of the district.
He further urged the officers to set targets and aim for achieving them within a fixed timeline.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, ADDC Poonch, Sandesh Kumar Sharma, CEO Tourism, Dr.Mohd.Tanveer, CPO, Maqsood Ahmed, CMO, Dr.Anees Altaf Nabi and other Districts officers.
